"Well, the end of the year is here. It been a fast one for me. I really appreciate everyone this past year for your support and continued interest in AITP. I really feel like we have moved forward and I hope things will continue in that direction. We have a great Board of Directors for next year to help us accomplish our goals.
I want to Thank our speakers for last month, John Halbert and Daniel Thomas II. I think we have some real leaders in Jefferson County and do feel a little safer. Keeping us up to date in Technology is a big plus in this area.
You all have a Great Holiday Season and God Bless.

The 2005 AITP Annual reports are available on the National AITP web site http://www.aitp.org. The report contains articles from the association officers and committees highlighting accomplishments throughout 2005. Take a little time to review these reports and find out what our organization has accomplished and where you can fit to help any of these committees, local or National.
Also, the Board of Directors has updated the Association three year Vision Statement. The following program areas will be top choice for the next three years: Membership, Education, Chapter Development, Communications, Marketing, and Operations. Do you know what direction your organization is headed, read the annual Report and Vision statement to find out the direction?
The Dallas Chapter has been awarded the outstanding chapter for 2004. A letter, submitted by the Region 3 President, acknowledging the continuous excellence that the Chapter has preformed. Let’s give Dallas a hand for a job well done.
The Regional 7 PEID, President Elect, and Region Board meetings were held Saturday and Sunday, October 15 – 16 in Birmingham along with the Regional Student Conference. The Leadership workshop started at 2:00 with welcoming remarks from the Region Vice President, Joe Copp. This was a well organized meeting with Karen Smith giving Association Leadership information, Julian Wade regional leadership, Steve Flowers chapter leadership information, and ending with group discussions. The discussions focus was on chapter problems and membership. Hopefully, what was learned will be used during 2006. Anyone can attend these meetings and I hope each of you can make one of these meetings. There is a lot to learn from other AITP Chapters.
The Regional Board meeting was held on Sunday. During the meeting, the Atlanta Chapter received a 1st place award of $400 for the top place in the regional membership campaign for 2005. Your Birmingham Chapter received 2nd place of $200. Let’s keep working on membership, our Chapter can do better.
The Regional goals for 2006 are the following:

  1. Increase membership across the region by 10%
  2. Start or revitalize at least one chapter
  3. Plan and execute a successful Region Conference and Leadership Training Event
  4. Plan and execute a successful Student Conference
  5. Assist with the NCC that will be in our Region in April

The Regional Board meeting started on Sunday at 8:30 with director and committee reports concerning our regional progress and failures during the year. I would like to report that our Region is in good shape but needs some volunteers in several areas chapter and region. If you would like to share just a small amount of time on any committee, Please, get in touch with Barbara Shook or myself; we will have a spot for you.
This is the last meeting for 2005 where we will conclude with elections and installation of officers and directors. We need you at this meeting, Jim N' Nicks, November 22 and bring a guest.
